Google’s Page Rank

Many of us have heard the term Page Rank on numerous occasions, and we usually heard it many times. But what does it exactly mean? How is it calculated? While some of this is a public knowledge, I will try to explain what this mysterious Google Page Rank is, and how it works in a few sentences. Google’s Page Rank is the way Google evaluates which site is more important than others, and how popular this particular website is. The higher Page Rank, the more visitors you will usually receive from Google’s search engine, as your website will often appear higher in the search results. The calculation is based on the number of votes other sites “cast” on a website. Vote means simply a link put on another website to a website for which a Page Rank is calculated. Generally, the more links pointing to your sites, and the more of them coming from sites that have high Page Rank themselves, the higher your Page Rank will be. While Page Rank is in no way the ultimate ranking system, and should not be viewed this way due to numerous flaws, is it considered to be quite important to many webmasters. One of the reasons it is considered so important is that there are very few ranking systems to begin with.

Social Bookmarking Sites

There are many advantages of using social bookmarking sites. That is why they became so popular and there are millions of people visiting them. If you want to receive more traffic, then submitting your articles to social bookmarking sites is a great idea. Here is some practical advice how to do it:
1. Know your readers and give them what they want so that they will come for more. You can learn about your audience by analyzing which articles are getting visited more often or simply asking them for their opinion.
2. Choose the title of your posts carefully. Try to pick up the combination that will be easily found by your readers. Use the most simple words as possible, because if people want to search for older posts they have to type in keywords in the search box.
3. Blog about something that will attract the attention of your readers. It can be focused on celebrities, scandal, surprising element or anything that you feel comfortable with. That way you will attract attention you want.

Understanding Modern Online Language

If you play online games, use a cell phone, or chat using instant messengers, the chances are high that you came across some sort of a modern slang that mainly young people use. You will not be able to understand it completely unless you learn it. Learning modern online language is like learning any other language in the world, with the difference that there is no grammar. Fortunately, this new language is easier to learn. Let me here give you a few examples of words and what they mean in English. For example, brb = be right back, gtg = got to go, gr8 = great, lol (used a lot in online games communities) = laughing out loud, any1 = anyone, xlnt = excellent, dis = this. I expect that in the years to come, this online language will develop a lot further, and many new words will see the light. We live in times when time is very important. When you play your favorite online game, you do not have time to explain to other players that you have to leave the game and that you will see them later. You simply write gtg, cya. I hope this information was useful to you.
