CreativeCommons.org is a website which provides a flexible range of protections and freedoms for authors, artists, and educators. Since bloggers fall into the category of authors or even artists this website might be of interest to many people. Basically, you can use Creative Commonsto change your copyright terms from “All Rights Reserved” to “Some Rights Reserved”. As a matter of fact, I saw many blogs which had this widget on the sidebar of their blogs. Some of the blogs decided to removed it, probably because they too many widgets. However, I think that incorporating this widget might be a good idea, because it makes your website appear more professional. It also informs your readers of your copyright policy. If you like the idea, feel free to put a similar widget on your blog or website.

EBay Responsible for Counterfeits?
During the last few years, eBay was sued by at least few companies which didn’t like the fact of counterfeit goods being sold on eBay. This includes watches, cosmetics, clothes and jewelry. Those are companies which are often regarded as selling luxurious products and some people want to make money by selling imitations of their products at a lot lower price. I don’t think that anyone condones such behavior, but the question is whether eBay should be responsible for this. I imagine that it is hard to monitor every auction that is taking place on eBay and that sometimes counterfeit goods may be sold, but as long as eBay is doing something against it, they shouldn’t be responsible. EBay claims that it spends millions of dollars each year to remove counterfeit goods and let’s hope that we will see the effects of it. On the other hand, eBay is only an auction site where millions of items are being sold. Very often, it would be difficult to spot if a product is a counterfeit or not, because eBay does not necessarily have to know if a product is a fake or not. I also think that it is up to people to make their own choice. If they buy a product manufactured by a famous brand and they buy it cheaply, they should be aware of the fact that they are buying a counterfeit. It is for them to make the choice whether they want to buy it or not.

Languages
English is one of those languages, in which you do not have to specify whether you are male or female. You can write, for example: I am a doctor. Do your readers know if you are a man or a woman? No. In many other languages, there are many different ways to specify what gender you are. There is no universal “I am”. There is either male “I am” or female “I am”. If you have been speaking English since your birth, and if this is your first language, you might not really feel how it could be possible to distinguish whether a person is male or female if he/she is writing about himself/herself in the first person, but in many other languages there is no way to hide it. I am sure that many people abuse it to hide their gender, especially if they chat on the internet with friends that they have never met, or participate in social networking. If Hebrew, for example, was the most spoken language in the world, there would be no issues like that. However, with more and more people speaking English worldwide, the tendency which aims at not specifying your gender is growing very rapidly. Of course, there are also some benefits of not having to specify what gender you are. This way you may be protected in a way from predators which are surfing the Internet to find a victim.
