Photo Slideshow
Many of us have a lot of digital photos stored on our computers. Why not create a slideshow using those photos while using nice effects and implementing background music? After all, viewing photo slideshows can be a lot of fun. By creating a slideshow, you will be able to show your pictures to your friends and family members. You can create a slideshow in PowerPoint, or other similar programs. Microsoft offers a free software that will enable you to edit your pictures, and create slideshows. I am sure you will be very pleased to see the results. The program is called Photo Story, and it is available for download. While creating a slideshow you may wish to add special effects, voice narration, soundtracks, and caption.

New Site For Women
Quite recently Yahoo established a new site called Shine that is aimed at women aged 25-54. This demographic is considering to be an underserved group so far. The website itself contains useful information on parenting, love, healthy living, food, career and money, entertainment, fashion, beauty, home life, and astrology. However, there are already companies that released similar sites before like Glam Media Inc. and iVillage. To provide the best possible material and unique in its content, Yahoo already partnered with companies like Hearst Communications Inc. as well as Rodale Inc.
Many articles on Shine are presented in a blog form, which is likely to appeal to many women, as they are able to comment to each post. I think that the idea behind the website is quite good; however, there is a risk that Yahoo underestimated its competition.

Looking at the Stars
Did you ever wanted to look at far, far away stars? Now it will be possible, as WorldWide Telescope was launched last year. Basically, it allows you to view images from Hubble Space Telescope, the Chandra X-Ray Observatory Center, and the Sloan Digital Sky Survey among others. What this means for an average Internet user is that he will be able to browse through the galaxy on his own, or even take guided tours prepared by astronomers. You will be able to choose from a number of different telescopes, and even switch between different light wavelengths. All of this should allow you to do things that were never possible before for an average person. I think this proves that we live in exciting times.
