Courtney Sale Ross
Whenever I hear a story about a philanthropist, I want to share it with other people. Recently, I read a short biography of Courtney Sale Ross. In case you do not know who she is, I would like to describe what she does for education in a few sentences. Former CEO of Time Warner, Inc. Steven Ross was her husband before he passed away. Even though Courtney is a widow, she decided to do good things for people. She has been interested and involved in education for many years now. Her main goal is to prepare students for 21st century problems. One of the ways to accomplish this was the foundation of The Ross School. The Ross School was not the only institution that Courtney founded. There is also Ross Global Academy and Ross Institute. Courtney is also known as a person who is interested in US/China relations. She also supports minorities. For example, Courtney offers a Courtney Sale Ross Scholarship Fund for minority women who often cannot afford to attend a college and university and pay for it. I am always glad to hear a story of a person like this one. I hope that by hearing a story, more and more people will decide to become philanthropists just like Courtney did 16 years ago.
